PWMS (Public Works and Municipal Services) Labourers (- 2 positions)

This position is designed to provide two individuals who may not have finished high school, or who have limited work experience to gain work experience and skills in the area of Public Works and Municipal Services. They will rotate through a number of duties including 1) assisting Carpenters and Maintenance Workers with home repair and maintenance activities, 2) assist with water delivery and water plant activities, 3) Assist with the set-up, maintenance and take-down of summer culture camps, as well as other emerging tasks as required.

Healthy Living Assistant (1 position)

Job Duration 10 weeks 35 hours per week
Pay Rate – $20.89

– This position would plan and organize healthy living activities for the community coordinating events/activities/sports. Individual will also help with the Kluane Day Camp program, organizing the kids camp and activities with the children and assist with other events in the Wellness and Education department by helping coordinate and work with other staff that may have events planned, such as on the land activities, camps, and workshops. The student would gain experience in the recreation field and organizing and planning events. The position would also gain experience in the use of digital systems. tools and software such as email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications

HR/Administrative Assistant (1 position)

– 12 weeks – 35 hours per week
Pay Rate – $20.89
Address/Location of Proposed Job Activities: 15 Sedata St, Burwash Landing, YT Y0B 1V0
– This position will perform a variety of administrative support duties, using a computer, filing systems, telephones, emails, etc. Work in the Human Resource office will expose the student to leadership and positive organizational values. Spending time, rotationally in other administrative positions will provide a wide range of value to the young person, including technical computer skills.
