Housing & Public Works
The department manages the upkeep and maintenance of all public buildings, community roads and services such as water delivery and septic pump outs. The department also manages the KFN rental housing and home ownership program.
Lands, Resources & Heritage
The Lands, Resources and Heritage Department is responsible for implementation of a majority of the KFN Final Agreement as it pertains to KFN Settlement Lands, heritage, and resource use within the Traditional Territory. Through the development of the Lands and Natural Resources Act, land use plans, regulations, and other policies and incentives, we aim to develop a healthy and sustainable community rooted in our traditions and culture.
Wellness and Education
The department provides a range of services that assist KFN Citizens and the community to live more healthy and pro-active lives. In addition the department assists individuals to aquire the skills to live more independent and healthy lifestyles.
The Executive Department is responsible for the overall administrative management and direction of the KFN Government.
The department coordinates the implementation and negotiation of the KFN agreements, including all aspects of enrolment and citizenship. As well the department provides legislative, policy, and regulatory expertise and records management.
The Finance department is responsible for the overall financial health of the government. The business functions include auditing and accounting for the company finances. This is done through a logical sequence of transactions beginning with budget preparation and ending with financial statement compilation. The department provides financial information and advice to Council, Department Directors and the General Assembly.
