KFN has been working with The Centre for Sustainability in Whistler, BC on the KFN Strategic Plan and Integrated Community Sustainability Plan since 2015. Kluane First Nation provides services and programs that affect all Citizens and community members in every aspect of daily life. Including: safe and clean water, debris removal, safe sewage removal, postal and banking, health, housing, recreation, employment, funding, heating, clear roads and roadways and land and resources use. All of these services and more allow for the community to grow and Citizens to engage in a positive manner.
During the budget planning, the staff and Council are tasked with balancing the true cost of governmental operations, programs and services with the needs and desires of the community and Citizens. There are also many global factors that contribute to planning of the budget such as industry, rising cost of living and national politics.
