KFN Citizenship & Indian Status – Two different registries!
Having a Status Card with a KFN number does not automatically mean you are a KFN Citizen. The federal Indian Registry and KFN’s Beneficiary Enrollment List are two completely separate systems. An individual has to submit one application to the Government of Canada for Indian Status and one to KFN to become a Citizen. KFN Enrollment Applications can be obtained by contacting the Governance Department at 867-841-4274 ext. 237.
KFN Citizenship Cards
We are planning to commence issuing Citizenship Cards once the card layout has been approved, and the campaign and database are complete. We will make an announcement when the cards are ready to be issued. Please take note that we can only issue a card in the name that appears in your enrollment file. If you want a card issued in another name, then you must send KFN a certified copy of the applicable documentation.
