Cultural Program Coordinator
Full-time, Permanent
Salary: LT-4 – $63,693.50 to 89,002.94 per annum ($35.00 to $48.90/hr)
(depending on experience and qualifications)
Overview
This position requires coordinating experience. The focus of this position is to support key cultural programs in the Language Department by assisting in coordinating cultural events, programs, and activities; assisting in the development of strategic planning; and coordinating the implementation of strategic plans and work plans. Each cultural program, event, and/or activity will include a KFN aspect that is tailored to the venue and the membership’s experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research, identify schedule, and coordinate cultural events and programs with the Language Director and other KFN departments.
- Assist with the preparation of necessary information materials for strategic planning.
- Assist with the implementation of strategic language and culture plans.
- Implement work plans.
- Provide membership and public information on KFN cultural programs.
- Coordinating the tracking of all deliverables for each culture program and/or event and/or activity.
- Manage 1-2-year calendar of dates for culture programs, events, and activities.
- Coordinating and assisting with preparing all associated Southern Tutchone language and KFN cultural material for membership promotion, governmental meetings, trade shows and donation solicitation.
- Assisting with research and fact-finding assignments and special projects as requested by the Language Director and other related duties as assigned.
- Liaising with cultural instructors/specialists, Youth, Elders, KFN staff, community members, various governments, and agencies; and
- Various administrative tasks associated with the reporting, correspondence, and filing for all cultural events, programs, and activities.
- Maintain the cultural program assets.
- Seek funding to assist with cultural events from venues and seek proposal funding.
Education and Experience:
Grade twelve with one-year college/university or equivalent in related fields of cultural heritage certification. An acceptable combination of education and experience will be considered.
This position has the opportunity to advance to management. There is the potential for transitional training and career development. Promotion and pay increases are based on performance and coordination and management ability.
Conditions of Employment
- A valid Yukon class 5 driver’ license
- A valid Standard First Aid
- Criminal check is a requirement.
